Texas Precious Metals Has Monster Boxes
I dearly love the many folks who have been recommending purchase of precious metals for well over a decade now that has resulted in several hundred percent gains in both Gold & Silver.
Yet, there have been so many cries of “silver shortage” and “get the physical while you can” that I am afraid that when and if true crisis ever does hit (and any of us is still alive by then) no one will believe the boy who cried “wolf” so many times.
It’s been about 5 weeks since the latest major takedown in the price of Gold and Silver and, naturally, there were physical shortages of the metal for many weeks.
Yet here we are, not even into summer (or just, considering Memorial Day is past) and one of my favorite purveyors of physical Gold and Silver, Texas Precious Metals, not only has monster boxes of Silver Eagles, Silver Maples and their own Texas Precious Metals Silver Rounds in stock but for premiums that are not too far off of normal.
Physical Silver in Monster Boxes
While 3.59 per 1 ounce Silver coin in a monster box is not “normal” Silver premium, it’s not THAT far above what we have seen off and on over the last number of years. It’s down from $4.99 per coin at most of the places where I price it.
If you have paid over $5 per Silver Eagle premium in any kind of volume at all, I’m sorry, but you overpaid.
And when Texas Precious Metals sells Gold or Silver, they have it IN STOCK, in their HOT LITTLE HANDS! This is not for any future delivery they are counting on “any day”. If they don’t have it, they don’t sell it. This is one of the reasons we game them a good review.
Currently you can get monster boxes for:
- Silver Eagles, $3.59 over spot
- Silver Maples, $2.69 over spot
- Silver Rounds, $1.99 over spot
Again, are these “normal” premiums? Who’s to say what “normal” will ever be again. For comparison, this includes FREE SHIPPING and with Silver, that counts for something.
A few months ago the premiums on Texas Silver Rounds was only $1.00 over spot, but I can’t guarantee it will ever get back to that; though I am hoping so.
Long Lines At Bullion Dealers
I know the U.S. is a poor place to try to find a retail bullion dealer, and I’m like you, reading about long lines to buy Gold in Asia, Silver in Canada. But here in the U.S. I used to think I didn’t know of a good bullion dealer because I lived in the sticks.
Now, though, I’m in Central Texas and don’t know of any in either Austin or San Antonio and neither of those two cities qualifies as “the sticks”, and there are no decent places to buy retail bullion PERIOD let alone having to stand in line.
Austin has BullionDirect.com but they have NO RETAIL walk-up capability. And for that matter, neither does Texas Precious Metals other than if you pre-arrange a pickup of an order.
So if you are in the continental 48 and are either standing in long lines to buy Gold & Silver or seeing excessively high premiums, you just need to know where to shop.
