Independent Speculator: Investing in Land Banks Question
Lobo Tiggre has been working diligently while locked down in his home port of Puerto Rico, discussing investing in Land Banks. Specifically, what they are and what his “my take” is on investing in them.
He did this in the latest issue of “My Take“; an inexpensive and somewhat introductory subscription service to learn a ton about investing and kick his personal tires.
It turns out, I’ve been a “land banks” speculator for some years via the HUGELY DISAPPOINTING Pebble Project of Northern Dynasty Minerals once highly touted by Peter Grandich.
(Some might say heavily pumped by Peter… – just sayin’)
What are Land Banks
We can’t give a better description on Land Banks than Lobo, yet they are kind of what they sound like.
Investing in Land Banks is buying land you hope will turn into a gold mine (in this case, literally!).
Buying land for investment purposes has always been considered highly speculative and usually is something one thinks of doing in hindsight: like us wanting to go back in time to buy more Texas real estate!
Currently, land banks are BOOMING in the resource sector as speculators jump on board anything that looks promising as Gold flirts with $1800/ounce.
With the Federal Reserve covering the wish of Congress and President Trump to flood the country with liquidity due to the COVID-19 politicized crisis, gold seems like a solid speculation.
Hence, investing in land banks seems to be a natural outgrowth of investors looking to bag huge returns in “the latest thing”.
Even Northern Dynasty has seen new life because of it and that’s a huge long shot!
(Sad, because we have a crapload of NDM stuck in our portfolio acquired at MUCH higher prices)
My Take For Education
Lobo Tiggre started “My Take” really as a quick and dirty way for resource investors to get his thoughts on individual stocks with a helpful and convenient “thumbs up/down”.
What has come about, though, is almost a training course in resource investing!
While it’s true that Lobo has a list of resource stocks approaching 300 in length, subscribers to My Take get much more.
Pretty much for free…
(and we like free, don’t you?)
We can’t divulge subscriber privileged information, but we can say that investing in land banks is for those with a higher tolerance for risk.
It’s not like the old adage “buy land because they don’t make any more of it”.
Truth is, there is a LOT of land available on this spinning dirt clod we call earth that is all but useless – at least for now…
If you are – ore (see what we did there?) would like to be one, investing in an inexpensive and highly valuable subscription to My Take from Lobo Tiggre at the Independent Speculator.
One of the benefits you enjoy is direct email communication with Lobo himself to ask questions about resource investing/stocks.
